Enhanced Learning Credits at Maven Training
Maven Training is delighted to announce a new initiative which means armed forces personnel can use their Enhanced Learning Credits (ELCs) to attend the following courses with us:
- PRINCE2
- MSP (managing Successful Programmes)
- Change Management
- ITIL
- APM Introductory Certificate
- PPSO (project and Programme Support Office essentials)
Maven Training was supported in the application to participate in the ELC Scheme by Major Robbie King who has recently left the British Army and is now employed by Cap Gemini as a Programme Manager. Major Robbie King is working client side on the IMPACT programme, delivering the Police National Database.
Maven Training was recommended to Major Robbie King, and he in turn recommended us to the ELC scheme. His recommendation has resulted in us being accredited to run more schemes for everyone in the armed forces, something which we are understandably delighted about!
Major Robbie king explains, “A colleague in the military completed the MSP Practitioner course with Maven Training and spoke well of his experience. The ELC Scheme allows service leavers to use their ELC for a set period beyond the termination of their service. I have qualifications in programme and project management which I obtained in France but I feel MSP will be a valuable qualification both in increasing my credibility and in providing me with a pertinent toolset.”
Upon leaving the Army Major Robbie King looked for a London based MSP course and having identified that no ELC accredited company was available in London, he supported Maven Training’s application. “Which fortunately for me was successful,” he says.
Major Robbie King spent 20 years in the Army, mostly in the Royal Signals leaving as a Major in October 2007. He carried out a number of roles within the military procurement set up. “This was where was first required to carryout programme and project management,” he says.
Maven Training’s approved membership number under the ELC scheme is 2314. The training programmes we offer will help the MOD personnel and anyone involved with the armed forces to enhanced their continual professional development. Whether delegates are thinking of leaving the forces or not, our courses will stand them in good stead in any private or public sector role.
Melanie Franklin, Maven training's CEO says, "We are thrilled that we've been accepted onto the ELC scheme. Having trained many MOD members in the past, we understand what they want to get out of the course. The ELC scheme will open up the opportunity to receive high quality trainng to all those working in the armed forces. This, in turn will mean that lots of people will be able to benefit from new skills and potentially, better pay and working conditions."
